Description of Services
Swedish Massage - The most common massage. It is great for relaxing and destressing causing the body, mind, and spirit to slow, calm, and better able to function.
Prenatal Massage - Designed to aid the expectant mother with relaxation and helping the body prepare for the changes occurring due to the growing baby. Extra pillows are used to relieve pressure and allow for comfort while lying on their side. Focus is placed on reducing swelling, relieving discomfort and aches in the back and hips, and helping the mother-to-be feel calm, relaxed, and at her best.
Deep Tissue/Sports Massage - This massage is designed for those that work out regularly or more tensed, tight muscles. It is a deeper approach to a muscle or group of muscles that need more work. This can be done all over or to a particular area such as the back and shoulders.
Lymphatic Massage - There are 2 styles that I am trained in. If you are feeling tired, sluggish, having trouble recovering from certain illnesses, retaining fluid or swelling due to an injury or procedure, or fibromyalgia, then this is a good massage for you. The lymph system is our filtering system and sometimes the filters can get plugged and not flow properly. With a lymphatic massage, the lymph system is opened and encouraged to flow allowing the body to purge and flush itself relieving the area or entire body of any blockage from unwanted waste products, toxins, and extra fluid
Myofascial Release Massage - This massage focuses on releasing muscular shortness and tightness. It is a form of soft tissue therapy used to treat dysfunction, pain and restriction of motion from overuse, trauma, infectious agents, or inactivity, often resulting in pain, muscle tension, and corresponding diminished blood flow.
Oncology Massage - For those recently diagnosed, going through, or survivors cancer, this massage is perfect for you. It is milder and designed to relax and ease any soreness or stresses from your treatment. Because I am trained in understanding the lymphatic system, I can aid in swelling of hands, feet, arms, and legs sometimes associated with chemotherapy and radiation. This will not interfere with any treatments and I am willing to work with your doctor to make sure you get the most comfort possible.
Nerve Release (Carpal Tunnel, Sciatic, Structural) - There are a variety of stretches, massage, and pressure points that can be done to ease and release and nerves that have become pinched or pressured in the body. This massage is designed to release the nerve and help with any symptoms associated with it.
Hot Stones- This massage uses round, smooth stones of various sizes heated to a warm temperature. It is useful for sore muscles and relaxing to ease stresses and tension in the muscles.
Weight Loss Research Massage- It is believed and being proven that there is a third element to weight loss that causes the body to jump start a sluggish metabolism and release stored fluids. This massage will cause inch loss that is lasting as well as change the look of skin to a smooth, firmer appearance with less dimpling. Research has proven so far, that individuals taking certain medications may be able to discontinue certain medications for high blood pressure, fluid retention, diabetes, and circulatory ailments with their doctors approval.
